Kadumbuttu (steamed rice dumplings)
Karnataka Food These simple rice dumplings are best eaten steaming hot. Spicy pork curry or fish curry goes well with kadumbuttu.
Rice coarsely ground, 1 cup
Water 2 cups
Ghee 1 tsp
Salt
• Boil water by adding a pinch of salt to it.
• Add ghee and then the rice; allowing it to thicken to a paste.
• Make small balls while the dough is still warm.
• In a steamer, place a muslin cloth and place the small balls in the muslin cloth and cover well.
• Close the lid and steam for 20 minutes.
• Serve with pandi curry.
